I love studying Theology, Church History, historical doctrines and getting nerdy about my faith. The problem is, too often the temptation is to forget the pure, simple, devoted pursuit of Christ and forsake it for the pursuit of knowledge. The flesh is fed by vain knowledge.

God's words in Isaiah still challenge me to this day:

"I will destroy the wisdom of the wise, and the cleverness of the clever I will set aside"

    Isaiah 24:19

Paul's words in 1 Corinthians also challenge me:

"For since in the wisdom of God the world through its wisdom did not come to know God, God was well-pleased through the foolishness of the message preached to save those who believe."

    1 Corinthians 1:19

So if God chooses the foolish things of the world to confound the wise are we supposed to abandon our pursuit of a robust, well defended, intellectually sound faith? Certainly not! But if we are going to seek the nerdy stuff, we must root ourselves on the beautiful humble pure rock of Christ, and grow closer to Him through our studies, never replacing Him with our studies, but finding a deeper love for Christ in all of it. In the apologetics, in the doctrine, in the Church history, Christ can be glorified by our studies, and knowing more about Him has a direct implication on our walk. Theology has a direct impact on how we pray, think and talk about God, but without that pure and sweet relationship to Him we are clapped.

If you are after pure and sweet simple edification, please see the devotionals section. Our goal with this website is not to add more high brow scholarship and intellectual junk onto the internet, but to pursue a simple and pure devotion to Christ and equip those who are seeking to defend and advocate for the faith. We could have every apologetic argument memorized, but without the Holy Spirit, we are cooked.

"...if anyone does not have the Spirit of Christ, he does not belong to him."

    Romans 8:9

May our prayer to God be that we would grow in our pursuits, grow in our faith and grow in our knowledge, but always submitting to the humility of Christ, knowing that God is not after the wise, He is after the sincere. May we go forth equipping the Body of Christ in love above all.
